Band 6 / 7 - Business Analyst
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Business Intelligence department for an experienced business analyst who can play a key role in the delivery of a comprehensive BI service.
The Team works closely with our clinical and corporate services to make a strong contribution to help us meet our strategic and operational objectives. The Business Analyst role covers all aspects of business information and reporting including clinical data and enabling system data.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide a technically-proficient, accurate, timely and analytical information reporting service to Trust personnel and external organisations. They will use their specialist knowledge of NHS activity data to produce statutory returns in line with national requirements and support clinical areas of the Trust with information to support their business needs.

In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

Educated to degree level in STEM subjects or equivalent NHS informatics experience, preferably within the NHS
Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience of presenting complex information so that it is understandable to users

Essential criteria
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to select an appropriate methodology when analysing data
Skills in SQL or similar database or programming tools
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent Data Analysis skills
Practical experience of PC Applications and good knowledge of MS Office products
Report writing and written presentation skills
Desirable criteria
Knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology
Knowledge of R Programming
Experience in PowerPlatform including PowerBI
