Your Role:
We're looking for a Business Analyst to join our News Broadcasting Digital Team. You'll work across two agile teams: News Broadcasting Audio Team and the Platform Team. The Audio Team looks after our universal web player housing Virgin Radio, Times Radio, talkSPORT and Talk radio stations. We are currently extending the web player to support all of our Irish stations, which come under Onic as a single brand. Additionally, the Audio Team includes a group of backend engineers who manage customer data, user preferences and permissions.
The Platform Team is responsible for providing the data that feeds both the App and the Web platform, as well as developing our smart speaker products (Sonos and Alexa). It is essential to demonstrate experience working with backend systems such as REST APIs and GraphQL.
Day-to-Day You Will:
Work within an Agile product team, comprising engineering (including QA), product management, project management, and UX&D.
Engage in business analysis activities to develop and improve our widely recognised media products.
Partner with the Product Manager to ensure backlogs are high-quality, visible, and demonstrate clear business value.
Analyse, document, and improve existing backend workflows, APIs, data structures, and integrations.
Perform in-depth analysis on prioritised initiatives, breaking them into clearly defined epics and user stories prioritised by business value.
Collaborate with developers to ensure system solutions align with long-term business and technical goals.
Translate business requirements into backend system designs and technical specifications.
Coach development teams on structuring and formatting good requirements and stories, ensuring self-sufficiency.
Provide feedback to teams and business stakeholders on delivered stories, highlighting the value created.
Research industry best practices and strategic directions, sharing insights with the team.
Contribute to and maintain the quality of BA standards and practices.
What We're Looking For:
Requirements Elicitation and Analysis
Ability to gather requirements through workshops, interviews, shadowing, etc., outlining business value, cost to deliver, and time constraints.
Effective communicator capable of sharing risks, assumptions, and constraints with both dev teams and business stakeholders.
Experience facilitating conversations to outline potential solutions and prioritising options based on business value.
Presentation skills tailored to the needs of different dev teams and stakeholder types.
Experience spanning the entire technology delivery lifecycle from inception to release and maintenance.
Building Trust and Collaboration
Establish or re-establish ways of working for product teams and third parties with clear accountabilities.
Collaborate across stakeholders to achieve common understanding of challenges, opportunities, and next steps.
Foster a trusted and empowered team environment comfortable handling challenging conversations about scope, benefits, and ways of working.

Delivery Focus within Agile Ways of Working
Experience delivering in agile/iterative environments using methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban, and Lean.
Understanding of iterative product development, including MVP, prototyping, and lean start-up techniques.

Advocate for continuous improvement.
Tailor communication, analysis, and team activities to suit the situation and audience.
