Role Purpose



A Business Analyst is responsible for converting commercial requirements from our clients into structured analytical deliverables and actionable insights.

This role is positioned at the intersection of consulting and data science, focusing on data preparation, validation, analysis, and reporting that supports client delivery. The Business Analyst will be responsible for ensureing the accuracy, consistency, and scalability of data used within Scalene's Retail Space Intelligence platform, underpinning the success of client engagements across the UK and Europe.

This role is primarily internal facing, with a focus on data management, analytics development, and delivery support rather than client relationship ownership.

Responsibilities in this role include:



Source, cleanse, and structure large datasets from multiple systems and formats to ensure readiness for analysis or modelling. Validate and transform data for integration into Scalene's analytical tools and models. Conduct analysis to surface trends, patterns, and insights that support retail decision-making. Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations using Power BI or Excel Translate business requirements into technical specifications and structured datasets for delivery. Document business rules, data logic, and analytical outputs to ensure transparency and repeatability.

Requirements



Expereince in data analysis, business analysis, or analytics delivery, ideally within retail, FMCG, or SaaS environments. Strong analytical and numerical capability and confident working with large datasets. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Power BI, SQL and Python for data interrogation and reporting. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling, documentation, and output validation. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables within structured processes.

Pay: 40,000.00-50,000.00 per year
