Birmingham Bond is seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking
Business Analyst
to support the optimisation of systems, processes, and business performance. This role will play a key part in analysing operational and financial data, producing meaningful insights, and driving continuous improvement through technology, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations, finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, improve reporting, and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Data, Reporting & Analysis
Analyse operational and financial data, including KPIs, performance metrics, and management information
Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to support senior leadership decision-making
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data-driven insights
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of business data
Systems & Process Improvement
Review existing systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
Work closely with IT and third-party system providers to support system enhancements and implementations
Support the development and optimisation of reporting tools, dashboards, and data platforms
Champion best practice in data management and process design
AI & Digital Innovation
Identify opportunities to leverage
AI, automation, and advanced analytics
to improve efficiency and performance
Support the introduction of AI-driven tools for forecasting, reporting, and operational insight
Stay up to date with emerging technologies relevant to logistics, supply chain, and data analysis
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a key link between operations, finance, IT, and leadership teams
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
Support business cases for change and investment decisions
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience in a
Business Analyst
, Data Analyst, or similar role
Strong analytical skills with experience working with KPIs, financial data, and performance reporting
Experience working with business systems and data platforms
Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting or BI tools
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable:
Experience within
logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or 3PL
environments
Knowledge or practical application of
AI, automation, or advanced analytics
Experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, or finance systems
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools, Mintsoft,
Qualifications
Degree-level education in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, IT, Engineering, or a related field
Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in data, analytics, or AI are advantageous
