What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

  • Defines process improvement solutions for business priorities for small-scale changes as part of a wider BA team and / or project team.
  • Works closely with more senior BAs, business users, project and technical teams to develop and enhance business processes, drive improvement and ensure delivery of key business and systems projects.
  • Follows a defined analysis approach to investigate operational needs, problems, and opportunities and appreciates the rationale for the approach
  • Uses a range of standard techniques to investigate, analyse, document and manage functional and non-functional requirements
  • Uses stakeholder analysis techniques to manage stakeholders (influence/interest matrix, RACI matrix)
  • Uses simple modelling techniques such as process modelling, data modelling and use case modelling
  • Uses process re-engineering techniques to investigate and re-design processes using tools such as value chain mapping and gap analysis
  • Demonstrates an awareness of Agile principles and techniques and an ability to develop user stories
  • Undertakes lean initiatives ensuring that better customer value has been delivered
  • Demonstrate examples of how the fundamentals of Lean can have benefits to customers/teams and departments
  • Business Process mapping of simple / self-contained processes using a standard notation (e.g. BPMN) captured in an appropriate tool (e.g. Visio)
  • Process re-engineering / improvement using simple techniques (e.g. SIPOC, value chain mapping)
  • Conducts data analysis and modelling activities (e.g. of volumetrics) to analyse data sets and deliver simple cost / benefit analysis
  • Awareness of common tools and techniques used to perform requirements analysis and able to capture strategic, business and user requirements (functional and non-functional) using a structured methodology (e.g. MoSCoW) and understanding traceability
  • Drafting standard operating procedures
  • Supports stakeholder analysis and mapping
  • Supports discovery workshops
  • Captures / records findings from stakeholder interviews
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belts: have basic knowledge of the principles, terminologies, roles, processes, deliverables, and tools of Lean Six Sigma. Understand how the source tenets (Lean Manufacturing/Enterprise and Six Sigma Process Improvement Techniques) complement each other.
  • learn relevant statistical concepts such as normal distribution and variation.
  • apply concepts such as Critical to Quality (CTQ), graphical analysis, and process stability/management.
  • gain basic understanding of the DMAIC method, especially the Define, Measure and Control phases.
  • Manage small initiatives overseen by a Green Belt, or ring-fenced activities as part of a Green Belt larger project
  • Indicative certifications: Business Analysis: BCS route: Foundation in Business Analysis, IIBA route: Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Lean Competency System - 1a: awareness
  • Establishes and maintains effective relations within the business helping to share their knowledge and experience
  • Understands the traits of good leadership and how to be an excellent follower and knows what to do in the absence of leadership
  • Writes and presents their own work in team and client settings
  • Co-presents/facilitates short presentations with senior team members and clients
  • Demonstrates problem solving, innovation and creative thinking skills and understands when they are required and appropriate
  • Understands and can apply structured approaches to gathering and presenting qualitative and quantitative data
  • Can conduct interviews and more challenging desk-based research to answer questions set out by more senior team members and synthesise into a logical and clear format
  • Understands the core approaches of business analysis, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Able to own and deliver high quality outputs
