The Role

You will be in the Utilities domain & consulting team in UK collaborating with internal and customer teams consisting of domain experts, customer side Product Owner, Scrum Master, Solution Architect, Data & Integration Architect and Scrum Team members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Role support various project activities range from Start-up/Discovery to In-flight phases.
  • Conduct subject research including interviewing SMEs and Project Team.
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops with various stakeholders
  • Apply Design Thinking, Service Design, and Product focused techniques to understand current processes, user profiles, and prioritising needs, confirm problem statements, and identify opportunities and Minimum Viable Product/Solution
  • Understand the as-is business processes, conduct Gap Analysis and recommend any improvements
  • Produce As-Is and To-Be processes and mapping.
  • Work with SMEs, Solution Architects and Product Owners to capture outcomes and requirements in the forms of Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Specification, Epics, Product Backlog and User Stories based on the project requirements within agile framework.
  • Develop roadmaps in association with project team
  • Identify and document business risks and risk mitigations.
  • Playback the requirements to development teams and provide clarifications.
  • Perform option analysis and document findings using given template to prepare and produce Project Investment Papers.
  • Support Project Team to scope out next phase of requirement activities.
  • Support for, and occasional full production of, Impact Assessment (IA) and Project Request (PR) documents for the DCC within SLA agreed timescales
  • Liaison with, and design reviews for, multiple 3rd parties producing the solution
  • Support any Service Design changes for the CSP.N Smart Metering services (if any)
  • Updating existing processes and procedures where required
  • Provision of cost estimates for delivery of the change into Operations
  • Support Transition team with operational handover to production
Skills & Experience
  • Proven Business Analyst expertise with extensive project experience across Smart Metering services and SMETS (Smart Metering Equipment Technical Specification).
  • Experience of working with DCC change requests (Impact Assessment (IA) and Project Request (PR) Level).
  • Solid experience of requirement elicitation, documentation and traceability and use of Epic and User Story formatted requirements
  • Experience working with Operational teams using the ITIL framework
  • Ability to communicate with the Customer, with 3rd party representatives and internally at all levels
  • Technical awareness of data flows, networking and security in a highly available, critical infrastructure
  • Experience in Agile and scaled agile framework and Azure DevOps/JIRA / confluence or similar tools to manage the product backlog
  • Extensive experience in operating in different project phases (ranges from Discovery to Post Implementation support) and common non-functional requirements for a given project
  • Experience of facilitating workshops and engaging with stakeholders at all levels and functions of the business
  • Experience in conducting option analysis and documentation of investment case and other artefacts as required.
  • Experience in the application of Design Thinking Approach and excellent presentation skills.
  • Change Management & Release Management experience and liaising with teams for strategic planning and business roadmap definition
  • Experience in one or many of below utilities domains
  • Gas Transmission, Distribution and System Operations
  • Electricity Generation, Transmission , Distribution and Retail
  • Detail understanding of SMETS1 and SMETS2 Smart Meters
  • Experience in Data Analysis using tools such as MS Excel, PowerBI.
  • Knowledge in CRM, Energy Markets, Asset Management, Operations, Real time Control etc.
  • Digital strategy & Technology consulting services experience
