Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Please note there are two full time permanent roles available. One of these posts is based in our SEND commissioning team and the other role is in our newly established Children's Social Care and Early Help commissioning team.
What we are looking for
We are looking for individuals who will play a key role in leading on the delivery of our strategic commissioning plans for SEND and Children's Social Care & Early Help.
You'll be part of a busy, friendly, and supportive team responsible for the development and delivery of Children's Social Care and Education's strategic commissioning priorities, working closely with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. As part of the work, you will lead on key commissioning projects that enable colleagues across our Children's teams to deliver its vital services in ways that ensure choice and control for our children, young people and their families, value for money and high-quality education and care and support.
We work in partnership with education providers, care staff, the NHS and our families and children.Working closely with the Lead Commissioners, colleagues from right across our children's dept and other officers, you'll support the team in delivering a range of key commissioning activities including reviews, strategy development and service redesign projects as per the needs of the department.
There are two permanent positions working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday). You'll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at Halford House, New Parks House or working remotely from home to suit your needs. At the present time in Strategic Commissioning, we are asking all our staff to be in the office to two days a week as a minimum.
What you'll be doing
As a member of the Commissioning Team, you'll be involved in a wide range of work including strategic reviews that could lead to the redesign of the services we commission, development of strategies and change. You will provide ongoing support and direction to a range of project groups. You'll work with other Business Change Commissioning Managers, multiple stakeholders both internally and externally, voluntary sector, and our families to deliver complex projects in time and to budget. Working at a strategic level, you'll write and present reports to senior leaders, chair key meetings, and articulate opportunities for changes within services and negotiating when necessary. You'll provide crucial support to the Head of Commissioning and Lead Commissioners on key strategic commissioning priorities and help to shape the Strategic Commissioning Teams forward plans.
What you'll need
With a proven track record of commissioning, change management or service improvement in social care or health, you'll have experience of effective stakeholder engagement and building and managing relationships with internal and external partners and be able to present confidently to senior leaders. You'll be highly organised, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet objectives and deadlines. Self-motivated, with a flexible approach and commitment to successfully delivering projects, you'll create a professional and positive working environment.
