The postholder will provide day to day co-ordination of our commercial insurance and business continuity requirements. Applicants should have in depth knowledge and practical experience in at least one of those areas. The successful applicant will be expected to manage and respond to incoming enquiries, with a pro-active attitude. They will be comfortable dealing with stakeholders both online and face to face in workshop type situations. Applicants will mainly be based at the University's Walter Bower House in Guardbridge, with a degree of home working possible, but site visits to St Andrews may also be required and for this applicants must have the means to travel easily between locations. Start date will be 11 August 2025 (or as close thereafter as notice periods permit) and the post will be fixed term, terminating on 31 December 2027.
Applicants will be required to submit a written role-based exercise in no more than 500 words. This should take the form of a brief organisational business case outlining the benefits of close relationships between business continuity, insurance and risk functions within a university. You may use AI to assist you in this but bespoke and individualised responses will be viewed more positively.
