As part of this exciting growth, we are looking for a self-motivated, passionate
Business Development Consultant
to join our expanding team. Working closely with the Business Development Director, you'll play a key role in growing our property portfolio by engaging with potential holiday homeowners and ensuring each listing aligns with our brand standards.
This role combines time in our front-facing office in Carbis Bay with regular travel across Cornwall, making it ideal for someone with strong sales ability, excellent local knowledge, and a natural talent for building rapport.
What You'll Be Doing
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective property owners, providing expert advice on holiday letting and how Cornish Escapes can support their letting goals.
Represent the Cornish Escapes brand during in-person property visits, where you will:
Assess the property's suitability for our portfolio.
Review existing documentation and advise on health & safety compliance.
Share market insights
Gather detailed property information and craft compelling descriptions.
Offer tailored, consultative advice to owners on maximising letting potential.
Promote the benefits of our Fully Managed Service and Marketing & Support packages.
Maintain regular communication with owners throughout the onboarding journey.
Manage and nurture a pipeline of leads, following up on enquiries, addressing objections, and converting interest into signed partnerships.
Collaborate with our Property Services teams to ensure seamless onboarding, from listing preparation to go-live on the website.
Schedule photography shoots and liaise with colleagues in Property Services to prepare a holiday home in readiness for the scheduled photography.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of your area, including tourism trends, guest demographics, and in-demand property types.
Collaborate with team to create new owner marketing content.
Build long-term relationships with property owners, ensuring retention and satisfaction.
Support existing owners by providing performance insights and recommendations to improve bookings.
To update listings and carry out pricing tasks on the booking system as required.
As a sister brand to Handpicked Cottages, the successful applicant will receive training and develop a working knowledge of both brands to support wider business development initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven success in B2B sales, business development, or property recruitment.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust quickly.
Strong organisational skills and time management--able to manage your diary and meet deadlines.
Commercial mindset and results-driven approach.
Solid understanding of what makes a successful holiday home.
Confident in assessing properties for commercial viability and brand fit.
UK Driving License - access to drive fleet cars to attend work commitments and appointments.
Desirable
Experience in the holiday lettings, property, or hospitality sectors.
Familiarity with Cornwall's geography and tourism hotspots.
Competency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the ability to learn new software.
Experience creating income projections or similar financial proposals.
