MSF is looking for a motivated Business Development Executive to join the commercial team in Newton Aycliffe. You will support strategic growth across the construction and infrastructure sector, working closely with the Business Development Manager and playing a key role in the rollout of a new CRM system in early 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Business Development Manager with lead generation, tender and framework opportunities, and maintenance of a robust opportunity pipeline.
Coordinate bids and tenders, including PQQs and ITTs, gathering inputs from technical, operational, and commercial teams and ensuring timely, high-quality submissions.
Engage with clients and Local Authorities through meetings, site visits, presentations, surveys, and feedback activities, helping to build strong long-term relationships.
Contribute to social value and community initiatives, including employment and skills, local procurement, apprenticeships, training, and community engagement, and support related tender submissions.
Deliver marketing and communications support, including content creation, social media, case studies, website updates, newsletters, and coordination of events and exhibitions.
Represent MSF at industry events and networking forums, and help organise MSF-hosted events and workshops.
Administer and champion the new CRM system, leading data migration, maintaining accurate records, producing reports and dashboards, and training colleagues.
Provide reporting and analysis on pipeline, bids, win/loss performance, social value impact, and marketing activities.
Deliver high-quality administrative support to the Business Development Manager and wider team, including diary management, meetings, travel, and document control.
Candidate Profile
2-3 years' experience in business development, sales support, marketing or a commercial role ideally in construction, infrastructure or related B2B sectors.
Experience supporting bids/tenders and working with CRM systems or databases.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft office.
Highly organised, proactive and detail focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build relationships at all levels.
Comfortable with occasional travel and working flexibly around key deadlines.
Qualifications
Degree or professional qualification in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Experience with Local Authorities / public sector clients, and knowledge of street furniture, lighting, or highways.
Understanding of social value requirements and experience implementing or administering CRM systems.
