The Role:

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager with a proven track record of selling transport, warehousing, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) solutions. This is a crucial role for our business, and you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new contracts and partnerships.

In your role, you will be expected to expand our client bas. This role is not just about sales; it's about building long-term, strategic relationships and identifying opportunities for both one-off adhoc work and contracted business. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can not only win new business but also help shape our services, improve our marketing (potentially social media) presence and to meet the evolving needs of our demanding industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to achieve sales targets and expand our market share. Proactively identify and generate new business leads through market research, networking, and cold calling. Conduct consultative sales meetings to understand potential clients' logistics challenges and present tailored solutions. Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and tender submissions. Negotiate and close new business contracts for transport, warehousing, and 3PL solutions. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new clients. Collaborate with the operations and management teams to ensure a seamless transition for new clients and the successful delivery of services. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and inform business strategy. Secure both long-term contracts and project-based/advice work to diversify and strengthen our revenue streams.

The Ideal Candidate:

You must have proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar sales role within the haulage, transport, warehousing, or 3PL industry. A strong understanding of logistics processes, supply chain management, and the haulage/warehousing market. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. A self-starter with a proactive and results-oriented mindset. The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player. Strong commercial acumen and a strategic approach to problem-solving. A full UK driving license.

What We Offer:

A competitive salary with a commission/bonus structure based on performance. Car allowance. The opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing family business, and grow with the business as we move forward. You will be first into our sales department. A supportive and flexible working environment. Ongoing professional development opportunities.
