Business Development Manager - WHSmith Travel (Hospital Focus)

Central London (Hybrid) | UK-wide travel required

About the Role:

Join WHSmith Travel's growing Business Development team as a Business Development Manager focused primarily on expanding and managing our hospital store portfolio across the UK. You'll be responsible for winning space for delivery of new stores, negotiating leases, maintaining landlord relationships, identifying new growth opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and grow WHSmith's Hospital store estate through securing new space from tenders, developing landlord partnerships, and actively prospecting. Lead lease negotiations and develop strategic landlord relationships Identify new sales, profit, and unit growth opportunities while monitoring competitors Lead capital expenditure and tender proposals, creating strong business cases Work closely with Property, Construction, Retail Delivery teams, and external solicitors to support store delivery and lease agreements

What We're Looking For:

Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail Retail experience and knowledge of the marketplace preferred Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationwide
