We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving growth through strategic planning and execution of business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in B2B sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management, with expertise in utilizing CRM software to enhance operational efficiency and client engagement. We require someone who is driven and self-sufficient in order to manage their own time well and produce results in different forms.
Our company is based within the Rail industry, so experience in the industry would be preferable and helpful.
This role will be a mix of business development and front-facing sales, both in person and digitally. We currently have no dedicated sales team yet we have grown a lot organically over the past few years, and the opportunity for us to grow further utilising the efforts of a BDM/salesperson is huge.
As this will be the sole sales position (for now), the commission/bonus structure will be very rewarding.
Duties
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
Identify new market opportunities and potential clients through research and networking.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective campaigns that support business development efforts.
Conduct negotiations with prospective clients to secure contracts and agreements.
Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
Utilise CRM software to track sales activities, manage customer interactions, and analyse data for informed decision-making.
Prepare reports on business development activities, progress towards goals, and market trends.
Qualifications
Proven experience in business development or sales roles, demonstrating a track record of achieving targets.
Proficiency in CRM software is essential for managing client relationships effectively.
Strong skills in strategic planning, negotiation, project management, and customer relationship management.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
