About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager
starting in January 2026
to drive growth for BSel Contracts by securing high-value construction contracts across multiple industry sectors. This is a strategic role requiring strong industry knowledge, proven success in winning major contracts, and an established network of decision-makers.
About BSel Contracts Ltd
BSel Contracts supplies and installs quality surface finishes including the following:
Cladding:
Brickslip cladding (Natural Caswell, Ivanhoe Cream), metal panels, external wall insulation, and facade systems.
Monocouche, silicone, acrylic, sand and cement, and lime-based systems.
Screeding:
Cementitious screeds for various floor types, including interfaces with insulation and drainage.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in targeted sectors.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, developers, and procurement teams including existing clients.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and potential DPS, Frameworks available to inform sales strategy.
Maintaining and updating the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system:
o Recording and Tracking Opportunities: Ensuring all new business leads, client interactions, and project opportunities are accurately entered and updated in the CRM.
o Client Data Management: Keeping client contact details, meeting notes, and engagement history current to support targeted outreach and relationship building.
o Pipeline Monitoring: Regularly reviewing and updating the status of active opportunities, tenders, and contracts to provide clear visibility for management and reporting.
o Reporting: Generating regular reports on pipeline development, bid success rates, and client engagement metrics to inform strategy and performance reviews.
o Collaboration: Sharing CRM insights with internal teams to support project delivery, client satisfaction, and cross-functional coordination.
Manage the company's marketing activities:
o Social Media Management: Overseeing the company's presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. The BDM will be responsible for creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content, monitoring audience engagement, and responding to inquiries to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
o Email Campaigns: Planning, executing, and analyzing targeted email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, communicate with clients, and promote new services or project updates. o General Marketing: Developing and implementing marketing strategies, coordinating with external partners and internal teams, and ensuring brand consistency across all channels. The BDM will also contribute to the design and approval of promotional materials, advertisements, and digital content.
Actively generate new business opportunities Using Barber ABI:
o The BDM will utilise the Barber ABI platform to identify and contact prospective leads within targeted industry sectors. By leveraging Barber ABI's database and communication tools, the BDM will efficiently reach out to decision-makers and potential clients.
o Calling Leads: The BDM will proactively call leads sourced from Barber ABI, introducing BSel Contracts Ltd's services, qualifying opportunities, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
o Generating Requests for Quotation (RfQs): Through direct outreach and engagement, the BDM will encourage potential clients to submit RfQs for construction projects, ensuring a steady pipeline of tender opportunities for the business.
Essential Experience
Proven track record of winning large-scale construction contracts in the UK.
Existing network of contacts within rail, airport, commercial, and residential etc sectors.
Strong understanding of procurement processes and tendering in major infrastructure projects.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver results under pressure.
Proven Experience with CRM Systems: Ability to manage, update, and leverage Customer Relationship Management platforms for tracking opportunities, client interactions, and reporting.
Barber ABI or Similar Lead Generation Platforms: Hands-on experience using Barber ABI or equivalent industry databases to identify, qualify, and contact prospective leads, as well as generate Requests for Quotation
Construction Marketing Expertise: Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies within the construction sector, including social media management, email campaigns, and promotional activities.
KPIs & Performance Targets
Annual Revenue Target: 2.5M+ in secured contracts.
Pipeline Development: Maintain a minimum of 15M in active opportunities.
Client Engagement: Minimum 10 new strategic client meetings per month.
Framework Inclusion: Secure at least three major framework agreements within 12 months.
