The Business Development Manager will build and manage a strong business pipeline of Collaborators whose manufacturing operations we can support in our manufacturing innovation centres (Stevenage and Braintree) and feedback market information to the leadership to drive the evolution of these two centres. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing the scope of our business with a small portfolio of existing Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Catapult manufacturing Collaborators.

The Business Development Manager will also work with supply chain and technology partners to further strengthen the ecosystem supporting UK CGT manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities





As part of an extended team, to deliver the business development strategy, aims, goals and targets of the CGT Catapult:Build and manage a pipeline of potential manufacturing Collaborators Understand the evolving needs of CGT Catapult Collaborators currently occupying the manufacturing innovations centre(s) and those collaborators who could potentially occupy Support the operations team where required in transacting ancillary fee for service work with Collaborators within the facility, for example QC services and facility modifications (via what we term Additional Input Agreements, AIAs) Maintain a key account plan for the portfolio of existing CGT Catapult Collaborators, ensuring a deep knowledge of their funding position, pipeline, investment plans, key contacts, company drivers and evolving needs Promote the CGT Catapult's manufacturing support at conferences and via other outlets and build a pipeline of collaborators to work with at the centre(s) Support the wider BD team to grow the depth of CGT Catapult interactions across all delivery teams at all CGT Catapult sites with these key accounts and regularly update line manager on the aims, status, threats and opportunities Identify opportunities for CR&D and commercial projects involving various CGT Catapult delivery teams at any site with the Collaborators manufacturing with us Disseminate throughout the CGT Catapult as appropriate, learnings from this close alliance with these key accounts Any other such duties as are reasonable for the successful delivery of the CGT Catapult's mission

Experience:

Recent experience working commercially in life science/therapeutic organisations Recent experience within a life science/therapeutic organisation, preferably within a GMP manufacturing environment Demonstrable experience of creativity in establishing new strategies Demonstrable experience in contracting
