About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Business Engagement Manager to develop and maintain strong relationships with aquatic and non-aquatic partners across the leisure sector. This field-based role will play a key part in positioning Swim England and the Institute of Swimming as partners of choice, delivering tailored solutions that support participation growth, commercial sustainability and sector development.
You will work consultatively with partners to understand their needs, influence decision-makers and identify opportunities that grow learn to swim provision, strengthen the workforce and increase pool usage. This is an exciting opportunity to shape meaningful partnerships that enhance the value and impact of aquatic environments across England.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of external partnerships, ensuring strong relationships and identifying competitive risks.
- Work across the sector to highlight the value of pools and maximise usage through Swim England products and initiatives.
- Recognise partner needs and recommend tailored solutions using insight and market knowledge.
- Support partners to expand learn to swim programmes and the aquatic workforce.
- Promote and deliver Swim England's consultative offer to drive sector engagement and commercial growth.
- Create inclusive swimming environments for the least active and individuals with long-term health conditions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective delivery of products and services.
- Manage your own workload to meet personal and team KPIs.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Swim England and the Institute of Swimming.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience working in the leisure sector with an understanding of aquatic businesses and sport development.
- Proven ability to manage strategic relationships with partner organisations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a solution-focused approach.
- Understanding of Swim England and IoS products and services.
- Ability to articulate product benefits in response to partner needs.
- Strong report writing and KPI performance management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable
- Presentation skills, including online delivery (Zoom, Teams).
- Ability to interpret financial data and demonstrate return on investment.
The role is field based, covering sites across the West Midlands, with occasional travel to the Swim England offices at SportPark, Loughborough.
