JOB PURPOSE

: To line-manage the day-to-day finance functions delivered by the two Finance Assistants. To assist in the provision of a comprehensive and effective business and financial management service to

enjoy

leisure, to support Enjoy in efficiently and effectively managing its services. Responsible to produce business and financial intelligence reports from the Finance system and the Leisure Management System, key to ensuring the organisation has the information required to effectively monitor and predict performance. To support the Head of Finance and Systems to ensure systems are optimised to the best standard and reporting capabilities are constantly reviewed and improved.

MAIN DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

:


Finance



Prepare and post month-end journals

Reconcile monthly payroll data and prepare the monthly journal for loading into the financial system

Reconciliation of nominal account ledgers, assets and Balance Sheet accounts

Support the Head of Finance and Systems with the preparation and submission of the monthly VAT return

Prepare, consolidate and analyse monthly business and finance reports for distribution to management, with commentary on results, forecasts and risks

Design and produce standard and ad-hoc business intelligence and financial reports and statistics, ensuring accuracy, timely submission and that all reports meet the needs of the business

Prepare site specific income budgets for review by senior management, contributing to the overall annual budget exercise

Line management of two Finance Assistants (Sales and Purchase Ledger)

Perform ad hoc costing and income forecasting exercises and investigations, highlighting potential impacts of proposed changes

Business Reporting



Build a directory of accessible reports, sharing through the organisation where necessary

Investigate discrepancies in income/reports/systems and take steps to rectify/escalate as necessary

Approve monthly membership direct debit runs for collection and post related transactions into the finance system

Support Senior Management Team with any analytical task requiring financial or

Maintain a register of all IT equipment

Develop knowledge of best practice, identify trends and conduct industry benchmarking of

Review and improve financial and systems processes to ensure effective use of resource and best practice

Deputise for the Head of Finance and Systems as necessary

Qualifications and Attainments


Essential



Education to 'Higher' level, NC or SVQ level 3 and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Be qualified by experience and studying towards a relevant accounting qualification (e.g. AAT/ ACCA/CIMA) and work towards full qualification.

Basic disclosure is an essential requirement of the post
