Purpose of the role overview


Clarity is at the forefront of providing business travel solutions to corporate clients. We are expanding our team and seeking an Business Intelligence Developer who excels in navigating databases, extracting custom data, and creating specialized reports to meet the needs of our internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Accountabilities

• Utilize Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel, ThoughtSpot and Qlik Sense to create or produce reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external customers and stakeholders to understand their information requirements.
• Develop and implement efficient processes for extracting and transforming data.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data in Excel reports, meeting the highest standards of quality.
• Address internal and external customers and stakeholder queries and ensure timely resolution of each query, exceeding expectations.
• Provide guidance and support to customers on understanding and interpreting the information presented in reports.
• Manage the import of the daily / weekly / monthly data feeds from our travel management company partners and ensure data loads complete successfully and on time.
• Manage, support and develop the Global hand off processes to ensure that data is handed off to the data warehouse correctly and on time.
• Support of our Go2Insight online self-service reporting and analytics platform including developing new reports, dashboards and data exports, managing and supporting user accounts and Go2Insight portals for our internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Develop new ETL processes to ensure that new and changed processes and requirements are reflected into the data warehouse and reporting databases

Main deliverables



Your primary focus will be on handling spontaneous and custom reporting requests and queries. You will be instrumental in searching through our data sources, reporting, finance and booking systems in order to extract the necessary data, creating customized reports in Excel, finding explanations for queries and providing customers with the precise information they need.

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights for informed decision-making. You will develop reports and dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel, ThoughtSpot, and Qlik Sense.

You will be a key player in managing and optimizing our business intelligence systems, administering the online reporting website and ensuring a seamless experience for end users. For example administering user accounts and configuring row level security groups, managing license application and working with the rest of the team to support our user base.
Essential

• Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer with a strong emphasis on ad hoc reporting and data extraction.
• Expertise in Microsoft Reporting Services.
• Expertise in Qlik Sense or Power BI or similar.
• Proficient in navigating databases and booking systems.
• Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and custom report creation.
• Good SSIS skills and experience of developing automated / zero touch ETL processes
• Strong SQL skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Thorough understanding of ETL processes and logic
• Strong knowledge of database theory covering important topics such as the use and benefits of keys, indexes and collation.
• Experience of using ThoughtSpot would be advantageous.
• Experience in the travel industry is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with customers to understand their unique requirements
