The successful applicant(s) will join Business Gateshead, a dedicated team within the Council that works with partners to create the conditions for business at all stages to thrive and prosper through a mix of cross-cutting and sector-specific activities.

P104024 Business Investment Officer (Inward Investment) Grade H (35,235 to 37,938 pa)
Full Time, 37 Hours a week. Fixed term 12 month contract, any extension is subject to funding.
M520526 Business Investment Officer (Inward Investment) Grade H (35,235 to 37,938 pa)
Full Time, 37 Hours a week. Temporary - 1 year to cover maternity leave.
The Business Investment Officer (Sector Development) will work with partners to develop and deliver a programme of intensive business support activities to encourage and enable high growth potential businesses in target sectors to connect with opportunities and to develop an ecosystem to support their continued growth within Gateshead.
The Business Investment Officer (Inward Investment) will work with partners to promote Gateshead as a sustainable investment location and be responsible for developing and leading on a caseload of business inward investment projects, generating new project leads from both within the UK and overseas, and managing the client journey from initial engagement through to successful investment.
The Business Investment Officer (SME Support) will focus primarily on providing an effective response to new start-ups and existing businesses to promote resilience and growth, ensuring that business investment and employment opportunities are maximised within the borough.
The ideal candidate(s) will be flexible to the needs of Gateshead, working with a wide range of businesses and delivering initiatives to stimulate enterprise, drive investment, competitiveness, innovation and productivity improvements.
With demonstratable knowledge of local economic conditions; local, national and regional business support services and business management processes, you will possess a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, substantial and relevant experience may be acceptable as an alternative, and have experience of working with businesses to influence investment decisions and collaborating with partners to deliver outcomes.
Secondment requests will be considered.

You'll be paid a competitive salary of 35,235 to 37,938 pa, subject to pay award.
