We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to become an integral part of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). In this role, you will work closely with the Headteacher to ensure the school achieves its educational objectives and meets Ofsted requirements.
You will take the strategic lead in developing, managing, and operating all financial, administrative, and support services within the school. Your focus will be on ensuring financial stability and driving sustainable growth.
As a key advisor, you will deliver clear information, advice, and recommendations to the Trustee Board, Headteacher, and SLT on the strategic development of the school's finances and support services.
You will oversee the effective management and monitoring of the school's overall budget and related financial matters. Additionally, you will act as the lead advisor for personnel and human resources, ensuring compliance and best practice.
This role includes responsibility for monitoring external service providers and leading all external audit processes for finance and Health & Safety, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
Your responsibilities
Leadership and Management - Be an active member of the SLT and line manage administrative, finance staff and the Site Manager.
Finance Management - To take the lead on and be responsible for all areas of financial management within the school including budget setting, monitoring, payroll and VAT returns.
Human Resource Management - Managing all aspects of HR for the school including all aspects relating to recruitment.
Premises and Health & Safety Management - Oversight of and competent person for all aspects relating to Health and Safety at the school.
Data Protection/GDPR Management - To act as the school's lead point of contact in relation to GDPR/data protection.
Student Attendance - Be the school's lead on student attendance.
What you will need
Formal qualifications in accounting or management; or CSBM/DSBM or equivalent and/or proven skills and abilities of high-level financial management skills.
Significant experience of financial management and budgeting in a school setting.
Good organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities, as well as being able to stay calm under pressure.
A positive can-do attitude.
