In this role, you will act as a trusted adviser and partner to the Group Investment Director, providing comprehensive support across all aspects of their responsibilities, including their position as CEO of the Unit Trust company and their executive responsibility for discretionary fund management business, Rowan Dartington. You will assist in overseeing teams of 200+ employees, managing key stakeholders across the global asset management industry, and within the organisation, and ensuring the Group Investment Director is fully prepared for key meetings. Your responsibilities will encompass drafting and managing meeting notes, preparing detailed board reports, and coordinating tasks across the Investment division to drive efficiency and alignment.


What you'll be doing:

Work closely with the Group Investment Director in their duties and ensure that their regulatory and statutory obligations across multiple entities and jurisdictions are met and evidenced. Track relevant board (PLC, UTG & RD Board), and Group Executive Committee (GEC) responsibilities/actions closely ensuring these are met by the Group Investment Director and/or their wider team. Work closely with the leadership team and executive/business assistants to ensure efficient, timely and effective collation and presentation of content for Divisional meetings, Board papers and Steering Committees. Review reports on behalf of the Group Investment Director, producing executive summaries and identifying where response or decisions are required. This will involve working with Senior Leadership Team to gather appropriate insight and data. Contribute to and support the development of the Group Investment Directors team's strategic business plan and, together with the Senior Leadership Team, ensure that it is well-understood across the team and by our stakeholders, monitoring, and reporting on progress against our strategic KPIs. Partner with Risk & Governance Investments team in respect of the directorates' risk register and RCSA process, ensuring that due focus is applied on risks affecting the delivery of the strategy, or wider risks across the Group, and that appropriate steps are taken to mitigate them. Stay updated on the day-to-day operational activity of the directorate and ensure they are kept updated of efficient running of the function and operational KPIs. You will provide support to our leadership team as required to maintain project documentation, coordinate meetings and events, communicate with key stakeholders and report on project delivery status. Collaborate with and support the Head of Strategic Planning and Performance in managing the Group Investment Directors spend and budget, including tracking overall expenditures, headcount, and expense claims. Partner with the Head of Strategic Planning and Performance and co-ordinate the Group Investment Directors communication engagement plan with input from Embrace, and the leadership team. Working with the Risk & Governance Investments team, you will develop and oversee a business continuity plan for the team, working closely with the Business Continuity team and Senior Leadership Team in developing and maintaining the plan, and assigning and engaging with tactical and operational recovery team roles. Oversight of the Executive Assistants' deliverables, ensuring accountability for the timely completion, accuracy, and overall quality of their work, while aligning with business standards and expectations. From time to time, you may provide cover to the Executive Assistant to the Group Investment Director during periods of absence. Continually expand your knowledge to stay abreast of relevant industry news best practice and keep your skills sharp so you can apply this to your work and play a pivotal role in the delivery of the strategy and continual improvement across the team.

Who we're looking for:


Experience in a Business Manager or Chief of Staff role, including:

Proven experience in business management and supporting Board-level executives within Asset Management. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, adept at navigating complex relationships across all levels of staff, senior leadership, fund managers, and external partners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior leaders Demonstrated experience wearing multiple hats managing competing priorities, and balancing strategic and operational demands Analytical mindset with a track record of driving operational efficiency and business improvements. Strong understanding of financial services regulations, governance, and compliance. Proven ability to support board reporting, presentations, and governance materials. A high level of professionalism and discretion, with experience of handing sensitive information and managing relationships at all levels Ability to work in the office 4 days a week

Desirable experience:

Experience working within investment, asset management, or private equity firms. Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret investment and business performance data. Previous experience supporting C-suite executives in a fast-paced environment. MBA, CFA, or equivalent qualification is advantageous.

Special Requirements:


Strong in-office presence required with some flexibility around working hours expected from time to time.
