We are seeking an exceptional individual to provide business management support to the Chief Executive. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a similar post or as an executive assistant to a Board Director.


The ability to work under pressure whilst managing complexity, confidentiality and conflicting deadlines is a key part of this role. Proactive support, attention to detail and the highest standards and inter-personal skills are expected at all times.



We are also looking for a team player. Reporting to the Company Secretary, the business manager to the Chief Executive will work as part of a close and high functioning secretariat team.


Office based working is aligned to the needs of the Chief Executive based on diary commitments; flexibility is essential.

Main duties of the job




To lead the efficient and effective operation of the Chief Executive's Office. This includes providing support to the Chief Executive's Office with responsibility for the management of the day-to-day work assigned to the Office, including line management of Executive Assistant(s) to the Trust's Executive Directors.



Managing the time of the Chief Executive in a way that ensures maximum visibility across the Trust and helps support engagement.


To represent the Chief Executive's Office within a variety of settings, involving a wide range of stakeholders including staff, patients, carers, the public, Trust governors, Trust directors and system, regional and national healthcare leaders/local authority leaders.



The role will support the planning and delivery of Executive Leadership Team responsibilities by ensuring that robust systems and processes are in place, coordinating leadership meetings, aligning to the trust's corporate governance work programmes and following-up actions.



The role holder will work collaboratively with system partners as required to ensure a smooth running of the Chief Executive's Office within the context of the broader health system. Able to work across all Trust sites as required.



The Business Manager to the Chief Executive will work closely with the Deputy Company Secretary.
