Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE) is an award-winning Community Interest Company that provides NHS treatment and outreach services to local communities in Devon and Cornwall. As a social enterprise, we are a values driven organisation with a focus on patient-centred care and addressing local oral health needs. We work closely with the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Dental School to support the clinical education of its dental healthcare students.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Performance Manager to join our team. This a full-time position based in Plymouth, working closely with our Executive Team to deliver our PDSE strategy. The successful candidate will support and maintain the high quality, cost effective and sustainable delivery of PDSE's business objectives which are aligned to our vision and values. This role has a broad scope, working across all areas of the business including operations, finance, HR and governance. The role holder will be required to provide direction and support, and drive performance and efficiency across these areas.

Role: Business Performance Manager

Grade: Band 8

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Role summary:

To support and maintain the high quality, cost effective and sustainable delivery of PDSE's business objectives aligned to the vision and values. This role has a broad scope, working across all areas of the business including operations, finance, HR and governance, providing direction and support, driving performance and efficiency.

Key accountabilities:

- Line management responsibility of senior management team supporting co-ordination of all PDSE activity

- Working closely with, and deputising for the Chief Operating Officer

- Supporting the creation of, and using data intelligence to maximise performance and efficiency

- Creation of and analysis of reports

- Communicating performance internally across all areas of the organisation, instilling and maintaining a performance culture

- Monitoring and maintaining contractual performance and quality delivery

- Effectively and efficiently managing projects across different areas within the organisation, ensuring alignment with timelines, priorities and organisational objectives

- Delivery high quality project management

- Devise and implement performance improvement initiatives

- Support accounting and finance function

- Write and present business cases for a variety of areas including capital projects

- Writing various reports and presenting at executive level

- Support business development through engagement with existing and potential providers of income for PDSE, identify opportunities

- Writing and scoring bids and tenders

- Helping to embed sustainability in all functions across PDSE with financial and environmental benefit

Knowledge, Education and Training:

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent professional qualification/experience

Experience:

- Management/Leadership experience ? Experience in writing and delivering business cases and proposals

- Experience presenting at senior level

- Experience managing contracts and performance

- Managerial level experience in dentistry or other healthcare environment (Desirable)

Skills:

- Proven decision-making abilities

- Ability to negotiate and influence, excellent communication skills

- Good financial understanding with experience of analysing and presenting budgets, profit and loss

- Ability to manage a variety of tasks, and respond to changing priorities

Normal working hours are 08:45 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, however on occasions to meet business need you will be required to work revised hours, typically between 08:00 and 18:00. The Working Time Regulations apply to all employees of Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (CIC) In particular, Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (CIC) will not permit staff to work more than 48 hours in any one week except where there are exceptional service needs where an absolute limit of averaging over a reference period of 17 weeks would apply.
