Business Planning and support Manager

FTP/Contract

Reading / Hybrid - 3 days a week in Reading

MBNL is moving to a centralised model for programme and project delivery and this role is responsible for the critical transformation of the Business Planning and Support function model. This includes the responsibilities for the developing and implementing the policies, standards, controls and processes to ensure the project and programme activity are industry best practice. This involves working closely with the Project Governance Manager and ensuring the right tools and systems in place to support the project management processes, and that they are clear and assessable to the rest of the business. In addition, this role is responsible for the production of the company business plan and the oversight of the corporate performance to ensure delivery is in line with the agreed plan.

What we are looking for?

You should have Consulting background and Strong leadership skills - coaching and development. you have experience in set up processes from scratch, implemented, Build roadmaps, Worked in transformation/change environments and Able to set direction and strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the production and overall signoff of MBNL\'s 5-year 18 month and annual plan (AOP) for the shared and unilateral portfolio across all business functions to maximise business value against the agreed budget in line with MBNL\'s and the Shareholder\'s strategy
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of the quarterly forecasting cycle to ensure that the projects are delivering against agreed Corporate Outcomes
  • Responsible for the review of MBNL\'s Corporate Outcomes to ensure they are aligned to the project and programme deliverables
  • Responsible for managing change to the portfolio via the Front Door Process and the quarterly planning cycle
  • Responsible for the presentation of management information at a portfolio level to demonstrate alignment of delivery against the Corporate Outcomes along with trends and dashboards
  • Responsible for enabling the provision of management information for the projects and programmes
  • Responsible for the definition of the roadmap, user support and configuration of the project management toolset(s)
  • Responsible for the project support team (including purchase order management) to ensure they are delivering the agreed level of service to the project and programme community
  • Responsible for identifying cost savings opportunities /synergies and drive initiatives to achieve the project management cost savings
In your experience you must demonstrate:

Strong track record of working on project or programmes as either a PMO manager or project manager

Significant project financial accounting experience

Detailed knowledge of Risk management framework

Comfortable working with broad range of Stakeholders

Excellent stakeholder engagement with the ability to interact, engage, influence, and have credibility at all levels

Confident communication skills and energy

A passion for change and proactively encouraging new ideas

Innovative, open minded and progressive in think

Ability to work in complex environments, on large portfolios of work, being able to multitask
