As part of this investment, we are seeking a

Business Process Engineer

to be based in

Birmingham on a Full-Time, permanent basis

. This is a key role in the Business Intelligence team to work with West Midlands Trains staff to align existing processes to the new data infrastructure. You will review and document current processes and improve those processes where necessary to ensure they are fit for alignment with WMT's data architecture.




What does the job involve?




Engage and collaborating with various departments in WMT, as well as external stakeholders to gather process information and requirements Assess maturity of existing business processes and identifying areas for improvement Design and provide ongoing assessment of business maturity, communicating required actions and successes to drive engagement and continuous improvement Design efficient and effective business processes that meet the business needs and objectives and will be bale to integrate with WMT's data platform Recommend changes or enhancements to existing processes to increase efficiency and productivity Where required, develop and implement new business processes and strategies Document WMT's business processes involving data flows, creating process maps and flowcharts to visualise the process Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of new processes and make adjustments where necessary Participate in change management activities Develop and maintain best practices to meet changing business needs

What skills and experience do I need to do the job?




Able to build strong working relationships within the company, particularly at peer group level, interpret end user requests into the development of useful tools that add value and increase efficiency. Experience of the rail industry would be preferable, having an understanding of the way that the rail industry is structured, operates and the type of processes necessary will greatly help Ability to respond to a wide range of complex and conflicting interests and to communicate effectively with key stakeholders in their resolution. Self-starter with the ability to lead mini development processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proven work experience as a Business Process Engineer or similar role Experience with business process mapping and modelling Knowledge of business process management principles and best practices Conscientious and structured approach to work, some experience of project management
