Business Sector Controller

What Does This Job Entail?



In this pivotal role, you'll lead the Co-op team at Kingsland Drinks to deliver sustainable volume growth by developing and executing joint business plans that span both Own Label and Branded products. You'll take on overall commercial responsibility for the performance of the Co-op Group, driving commercial success and profitability for Kingsland Drinks Group.

This role involves overseeing commercial price negotiations, generating new business opportunities, and championing insight-driven innovation. You'll work closely with various teams across the business to build strong relationships and achieve results that make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:



Deliver the commercial strategy as outlined by the Managing Director. Manage the day-to-day business of key Multiple Retailer(s) and Discounter Accounts across all formats in Wine, Spirits & RTDs.
Commercial responsibility to include all aspects of budgeting, sales, profitability and forecasting, ensuring availability and service is always front of mind.

Achieve results aligned with budgetary targets, analysing discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed. Relationship development within the account to include buyers, supply chain, operations, marketing, store managers and wine advisors. Product training and management within the account base.
To monitor competitive activity in the marketplace and to utilise market data analysis to identify key customers opportunities.

Mentor, support and develop Business Account Executives or relevant personnel, including conducting regular reviews, appraisals and developing a collaborative personal development plan. To proactively support the broadening of the customer base within the Kingsland sales division. Deliver the commercial strategy as outlined by the Commercial Director. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Co-op account, including NISA, across all formats in Wine, Spirits, and RTDs. Take full commercial responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, sales, and profitability, ensuring availability and service excellence. Achieve budgetary targets, analyse discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including Buyers, Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Store Managers, and Wine Advisors. Provide product training and support to enhance knowledge within the account base. Monitor competitive activity and leverage market data analysis to identify growth opportunities. Mentor, support, and develop Business Account Executives or relevant personnel, conducting regular reviews, appraisals, and collaborative personal development plans. Proactively support the expansion of the customer base within the Kingsland sales division.

Required Qualifications:



Previous FMCG Account Management / Leadership experience Previous FMCG market experience (preferably in the BWS industry)Experience of working in manufacturing sector Extensive retail sales experience, customer & portfolio management Preference to have WSET or similar wine education, not essential Experience / Degree or diploma in Business, Economics or similar discipline Strong negotiation skills Strong financial skills Full UK Driving Licence

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 60,000.00-65,000.00 per year
