The Business Solutions Partner will play a key role in enabling service improvement and innovation across the Council through the effective use of digital and ICT solutions. You will scope, manage, and deliver projects that enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, and support the Council's ICT and Digital Strategy.
Working with a range of stakeholders--including service managers, elected members, residents, partners, and suppliers--you will help deliver solutions that contribute to South Tyneside's 20-year vision of becoming an outstanding place to live, invest, and raise families.
Key Responsibilities
Business Change & Service Improvement
Work with services to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and savings using digital and ICT solutions.
Ensure projects are scoped based on data, user discovery, stakeholder input, and system capabilities.
Define and monitor project benefits, ensuring measurable outcomes.
Project Management
Manage and deliver ICT and digital projects using recognised methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).
Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and governance frameworks.
Secure and manage resources (budget, staffing, technical support, training, etc.) to ensure successful delivery.
Lead stakeholder engagement and communications to drive project success.
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate where required.
Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements to project processes.
Data & Information Governance
Embed data privacy and security into all projects.
Ensure full compliance with GDPR, relevant legislation, and internal standards.
Contribution to Service Development
Act as an ambassador for Digital and ICT Services, promoting the benefits of digital transformation.
Support the delivery of the Council's ICT and Digital Strategy and wider priorities.
Identify opportunities for efficiencies within service delivery.
Contribute to team development and cross-council initiatives.
Person RequirementsEssential Skills & Experience
Proven track record in scoping, managing, and delivering ICT/digital projects.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Knowledge of project management frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).
Strong ability to identify business change opportunities and deliver measurable results.
Awareness of GDPR and information security requirements.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in local government or the wider public sector.
Familiarity with digital transformation programmes in large or complex organisations.
