EMS is a specialist equipment management solutions provider to large manufacturing organisations across the UK, Europe and North America; with offices in Belfast, Dublin and Halifax. Operating mainly within the FMCG sector, EMS controls equipment pools that are used to distribute our customers' products to market.

Job Summary



The Business Solutions Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects that deliver business solutions to meet organisational needs. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, working closely with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager will also be responsible for managing and creating business data and reporting, ensuring data-driven decision-making and the delivery of valuable insights. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a deep understanding of business processes, and experience in implementing software or technology solutions to drive business improvements.

Responsibilities and Duties



Project Planning & Execution:

Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation to delivery for business solution implementations.
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and budgets.

Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with internal stakeholders, including business leaders, department heads, and IT teams, to identify project requirements and objectives.
Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide regular project updates.

Team Leadership:

Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams consisting of internal and external stakeholders.
Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear.

Data Management & Reporting:

Manage and oversee the collection, organisation, and maintenance of business data relevant to projects.
Create, analyse, and deliver reports that provide insights into project performance, business outcomes, and solution effectiveness.
Collaborate with business intelligence and data teams to ensure data accuracy and the creation of meaningful dashboards and reporting tools.
Use data-driven insights to identify trends, support decision-making, and recommend improvements for business solutions.
Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices in data management.

Risk & Issue Management:

Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues related to project delivery.
Develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Proactively address any changes to project scope, timelines, or budgets.

Solution Delivery & Implementation:

Oversee the implementation of business solutions, ensuring they meet organisational needs and add value.
Coordinate testing, training, and deployment activities to ensure successful adoption.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business objectives.

Budget & Resource Management:

Manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely project completion.

Continuous Improvement:

Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement in processes and solution delivery.
Contribute to the development and refinement of best practices in project management and business solutions.

Qualifications and Skills


Education & Experience:

5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within business solutions or IT environments.
Experience in managing and creating business data and reporting, using tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power Bi, Power Apps and other business intelligence platforms.
Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 certification, or equivalent is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
Experience in implementing business or IT solutions, such as ERP, CRM, or other business systems.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with project management tools.
Familiarity with business process mapping and improvement methodologies.
Understanding of software development and system integration.

Requirements



Able to travel between offices in different countries.
This is normally a 9-to-5 role, but occasional longer hours may be needed with flexibility offered in return.
