We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Business Support Admin Assistant to provide high-quality administrative and frontline support across the service. The successful candidate will deliver efficient, accurate and timely business support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
This role involves reception duties, meeting support, data management, and a range of routine administrative and financial tasks. Professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality business support services in line with service standards and agreements.
Organise meetings and events, liaising with colleagues and external partners, ensuring timely production of agendas, notes and outputs.
Support and document meetings, including those involving sensitive matters.
Deliver general reception duties, offering frontline customer service and resolving basic enquiries.
Take clear messages via telephone and email, ensuring accurate handover.
Carry out a range of routine administrative tasks as required.
Administer business processes and systems, ensuring accuracy and timely outcomes.
Maintain secure and accurate data records, including producing routine management information.
Maintain filing systems and update electronic databases.
Receive, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing post.
Undertake financial administrative tasks in accordance with procedures.
Monitor office equipment and report issues to supervisors.
Maintain confidentiality and act professionally when interacting with colleagues, customers and partners.
Undertake routine opening/closing of the building and ensure safety and security procedures are followed.
Contribute to continuous improvement and support service flexibility to meet changing demands.
Demonstrate positive professional behaviours and uphold organisational values.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including Health & Safety, GDPR and Data Protection.
Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post and grade.

Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in administrative or customer-facing work.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise routine tasks.
Ability to maintain accurate records and follow set procedures.
Competent IT user including Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
Ability to work sensitively, professionally, and maintain confidentiality.
Team-focused with the ability to work flexibly to support service needs.
Desirable
Experience working in a local authority, education or public sector environment.
Familiarity with financial administrative processes.
