EHSL Supported Housing Charity provides high-quality supported accommodation for vulnerable adults across London, the Southeast, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the wider UK. Our mission is to offer safe, secure homes and intensive housing management services that empower people to thrive in their communities and lead more independent lives.
We are now expanding our team with a new Business Support and Partnerships Assistant. This role combines day-to-day business support with the exciting opportunity to support the development and delivery of EHSL's partnerships and fundraising activity, helping us grow and strengthen the services we provide.
Purpose of the Role
This is a varied role, ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, and people-focused. You will:
Provide high-quality business and administrative support across EHSL.
Support the development and delivery of EHSL's partnerships and fundraising activity.
Build and manage relationships with donors, businesses, and community partners.
Support staff wellbeing and positive workplace culture initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Support
Provide general administrative support including ordering items, document preparation, filing, and record keeping.
Assist with meeting preparation, project coordination, and follow-up actions.
Take minutes during meetings and circulate promptly.
Assist With Payroll administration
Support HR and recruitment processes (drafting adverts, scheduling interviews, onboarding, HR records).
Provide cover for the contact centre and repairs coordination during staff absence or peak times.
Act as a first point of contact for tenants, landlords, contractors, and stakeholders across multiple communication channels (phone, email, webchat, correspondence).
Log all interactions in systems (e.g. Arthur, Contact Log), ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
Partnerships & Fundraising
Support the development and delivery of EHSL's fundraising and partnership activity.
Research and evaluate new funding opportunities (trusts, foundations, corporates, donors).
Write and submit funding applications and proposals.
Assist in developing and delivering giving campaigns and fundraising appeals.
Build relationships with businesses, donors, and community partners to secure both financial and in-kind support.
Create fundraising materials, impact stories, and supporter communications (appeals, newsletters, website, social media).
Represent EHSL at external meetings and events, acting as an ambassador for the charity.
Maintain accurate records of donor activity, income, and reporting requirements.
Health, Wellbeing & Culture
Promote EHSL's staff wellbeing and positive workplace culture initiatives.
Act as a point of contact for staff wellbeing concerns, providing guidance and signposting to support services.
Organise and promote wellbeing activities and campaigns.
Share staff feedback with the Executive Team monthly.
Role-model a supportive, positive, and healthy workplace culture.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in administrative or business support functions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confident in building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Proactive and adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
IT proficient (Microsoft Office, CRM, digital comms tools).
An interest in fundraising, partnerships, and supporting staff wellbeing.
Desirable:
Experience in fundraising, partnerships, or HR functions.
Knowledge of donor stewardship and ethical fundraising.
Understanding of supported housing, social care, or community development sectors.
Experience creating engaging communications (social media, newsletters, campaigns).
