We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we're on. In our world, it all matters.
Job description
Supporting national security.
Finding the perfect balance.
Taking pride in your work.
It all matters.
Keep our global operations running with precision and purpose
In this role, you'll deliver vital administrative and business support that keeps operations running smoothly and ensures compliance with FCDO Services policies and procedures. You'll manage purchasing requests from initiation to completion, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and timely processing, while maintaining essential records, databases, and registers to uphold data integrity. You'll also monitor activities such as procurement card usage and time card submissions, supporting colleagues to meet requirements and maintain high standards across the business.
As a central point of contact for purchasing, recruitment, and general administrative queries, you'll collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and Procurement to resolve issues, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement. From producing reports and coordinating communications to supporting events and managing team resources, you'll play an active role in creating an efficient, well-organised, and high-performing support function that enables FCDO Services to deliver effectively for its customers.
Bring organisation, accuracy, and initiative to every task you take on
Organised, proactive, and detail-focused, you take pride in delivering accurate work and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. You're confident managing multiple priorities, planning and organising your workload effectively to meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality. With a strong grasp of administrative processes, purchasing procedures, and compliance requirements, you ensure that every task - from processing procurement requests to maintaining data integrity - is completed to the highest standard.
You're approachable and professional, able to build strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels. Clear communication comes naturally to you, whether you're explaining processes, following up on documentation, or supporting others to meet policy standards. Comfortable using Microsoft Office and M365 tools, you use technology to stay organised and efficient.
Discover the support you need to grow your career
Working with us, you'll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It's a role you can feel proud of, and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That's why when you join us, you expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you'll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, cafe, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do and all you need.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you're successful in your application, we'll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
