The Team
The Short Term & Urgent Support Team (STUST) support residents of Kirklees by delivering re-enablement packages of care and support to the residents of Kirklees. The goal is to help people get back on their feet after illness or injury.
We are looking for a Business Support Officer to join us. This is a fast-paced, high-pressure role, but for a motivated and committed individual helping vulnerable members of our community to live longer in their own homes makes this a rewarding job.
The Role
Customer service skills, especially telephony skills, are key to this role as you will liaise with service users, their families, professionals, GPs, and partner organisations.
You will need great team working skills as you will need to work flexibly with your team to provide a consistent support service to service users as well as providing administrative support to the STUST and Mobile Response Teams.
Administrative tasks include:
Specialist administration support
Setting up service users records
Data processing
Submit mileage and additional hours claims for the Support Workers that work with service users
Ordering critical stock, such as PPE
Responding to queries from service users, families, staff and other services and agencies.
Other role requirements:
Ability to follow service policies and procedures as you will be working with confidential and sensitive information;
You will be given support and guidance from the BSO team and managers, but you should be able to work independently, prioritise tasks appropriately and manage you own workload;
Motivation and a willingness to learn will also be important for this role as you will need to learn how to use service-specific IT systems;
Experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access);
You should be able to demonstrate business and administration skills to NVQ 2 level and have a level of literacy to be able to produce routine documentation.
