Owen Mumford is looking to hire an Business Systems Specialist! Could this be your next role?


As the the Business Systems Specialist you will be responsible for the identification, verification and implementation of business solutions that can be derived from increased utilisation of Epicor and other business systems across Owen Mumford, in accordance with established policies.


The specialist is responsible for gaining and maintaining sufficient technical knowledge of the system to keep it operational.


This role is based at our Chipping Norton site.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide input to the business systems strategy, keeping it up to date and relevant to the business. Responsible for the promotion of process change rather than software customisation or modification wherever possible. Propose improvements and review/support others' suggestions for enhancement to the Epicor installation. Provide System and Business Intelligence support to all overseas affiliates within the Group. Provide input to the Epicor business strategy, keeping it up to date and relevant to the business. Responsible for the promotion of process change rather than software customisation or modification wherever possible. Provide knowledgeable and pragmatic support to key OM projects, reinforcing global standards and efficient solutions that optimise Epicor Kinetic functionality so that Epicor Kinetic becomes the backbone of our business. Look beyond what users request to ensure that optimal solutions that exploit Epicor functions are designed for business processes. Maintain open communication channels with all divisions within the Group to develop management reporting that facilitates management control. Responsible for creating robust test plans and test scripts for thoroughly testing solutions in accordance with the requirements for a validated software solution prior to handover to requester. Actively review tickets logged with Service Desk. Be customer-focussed in investigating problems and providing prompt resolution, keeping the requester informed of progress. Review content of service packs and upgrades and recommend timing for their adoption deployment in accordance with the requirements for a validated system. Maintain expert knowledge of all aspects of the Epicor Toolkit (BPM's, Application Studio, BAQ etc) and recommend appropriate tools for the development of business solutions. Understand the Epicor architecture to provide technical input to plans regarding the copying or replicating of environments. Champion Epicor solutions within the company and promote its extensive capabilities. Create and build strong links with Epicor Process Owners and users in all functions and departments within the Group. Communicate and work with Epicor and other Epicor support partners to address ongoing support issues and continuous improvement initiatives. Raise and process Purchase Orders per OM procedures for all work to be done by contractors, ensure a Statement of Work is produced ahead of each visit, monitor hours worked and manage the completion of PO's/invoice approvals so that accounts for all Epicor-related contractors are well managed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:



Strong IT skills Good knowledge of business processes in a manufacturing business Experience in a regulated business Excellent knowledge of Epicor or alternative ERP systems Expertise in problem solving methodologies and techniques Strong communication skills Business analysis and decision making ability Planning and organising skills
