DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION





The Streaming department is responsible for the strategy, development, and operation of our digital streaming platform, delivering high-quality, on-demand content to audiences across multiple devices and markets.



The team drives innovation in user experience, content delivery, and platform technology, ensuring our streaming service remains competitive and aligned with evolving consumer expectations.



Working cross-functionally with technology, marketing, content and editorial, commercial and insights, the department is at the forefront of digital transformation enabling the business to reach new audiences and maximize engagement in a rapidly changing media landscape as part of our FAST Forward strategy.



JOB PURPOSE





The business transformation lead is accountable for defining, shaping and managing all aspects relating to business change and readiness required for streaming transformation programme (STP) transition and adoption, ensuring teams are fully prepared to adopt the new streaming platform and associated ways of working required to realise its value.



The role will be accountable for making the go/no-go recommendation from a business readiness perspective.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES





Lead business transformation:
Leads the end-to-end business transformation agenda, accountable for translating strategic change requirements into tangible implementation and delivery, through the designing and embedding of the new streaming operating model, ensuring that new ways of working are not only defined but fully operationalised. Change management Owns, develops and drives the overall STP business change management approach and plan, including all training, upskilling, and business engagement needed to prepare for the new platform. Works closely with the Streaming Transformation Programme Director to ensure alignment and connectivity to the overarching STP plan.

Business readiness:
Assesses and reports on business readiness for platform launch and adoption, delivering authoritative go/no-go recommendations to Senior Leadership, ensuring decisions are evidence based and actionable.Ensures business readiness supports not only internal delivery but Channel 4s ability to compete effectively within the digital media and streaming market. Engages with key stakeholders to address and resolve issues and blockers to the new operating model.

Operating model implementation:
Manages the implementation of the new operating model, defining roles, responsibilities, and processes ensuring roles are clear and people are supported through the transition.

Stakeholder engagement:
Drives extensive engagement with both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. key deliver partner Accenture) acting as the primary contact in external transformation discussions. Influences, negotiates and aligns key delivery partner and senior stakeholders to ensure seamless adoption of the new streaming platform and associated ways of working.

Performance and risk management:
Monitor and report on transformation progress (adoption), risks, and impact, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders and oversight via centralised STP governance

Continuous improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimisation and drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices. Continuously benchmarks against competitor approaches and wider industry best practice to maintain a market-leading operating model.

Coaching and support:
Lead coaching activities to embed new ways of working and support teams through the transition.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS


Proven expertise in leading large-scale business transformation and change programmes in complex organisations, with a focus on people change. Ability to link transformation delivery directly to organisational strategy and commercial objectives. Experience in digital transformation, especially within streaming or media platforms. Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development cycles. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging C-suite and cross-functional teams. Project management expertise, including planning, execution, and reporting. Analytical and problem-solving skills, able to analyse data, identify and address complex business challenges and develop solutions. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively across functions at all levels. Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with industry trends and best practices. Familiarity with employee surveys and analysis.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & SKILLS


Strong knowledge of change management methodologies and business process optimisation e.g. ADKAR, Kotter etc. Coaching and training experience, supporting teams through change. Relevant qualifications (e.g., degree in business, technology, or related field; certifications in change management or project management).
