Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a strong understanding of culinary practices. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meat products, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen.

Duties

Be able to Bone out and break down a side of beef, whole pig, whole Lamb, whole venison. Prepare and cut various types of meat including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry according to specifications. Ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butcher area and equipment. Assist in inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting shortages. Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil specific meat preparation requests for menu items. Provide excellent customer service by answering queries related to meat cuts and preparation methods. Participate in training new staff on proper butchering techniques and food safety practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or food production environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to butchering and food preparation. Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. A passion for quality food and commitment to maintaining high standards.
