Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and reliable

Butcher

to join our team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience as a butcher, strong knowledge of food safety practices, and the ability to perform accurate cutting, portioning, and preparation of various meat products. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality standards, excellent customer service, and proper maintenance of the shop.

Duties & Responsibilities

Cut, trim, bone, and prepare a wide variety of raw meats according to shop standards Portion, weigh, and package meat products accurately Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety regulations Ensure proper storage and labelling of all meat products Assist customers with product selection, advice, and custom orders Operate butchery equipment safely (saws, grinders, slicers, knives, etc.) Monitor product quality and report any issues to management Support restocking and inventory tasks as needed

Requirements

Must have experience

working as a butcher, meat cutter, or in a professional meat environment (no beginners) Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cuts of meat Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper handling of raw meat Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop Good communication skills and a professional, customer-friendly attitude Physically able to handle repetitive tasks, lifting, and standing for long periods Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if needed
