Job Description

To carry out the cutting, preparation, processing, and handling of meat products in a wholesale FMCG environment, ensuring strict compliance with UK food safety legislation, health and safety regulations, and Isaac Wholesale Limited's policies, while supporting efficient warehouse operations and maintaining high product quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1.

Meat Processing & Production

Cut, bone, trim, portion, and prepare meat products in line with wholesale specifications and production schedules.

Operate meat processing equipment safely and efficiently.

Ensure consistency in portion sizes, labelling, and packaging.

Minimise waste through correct cutting techniques and stock rotation.

Food Safety & Hygiene (Legal Compliance)

Comply fully with the Food Safety Act 1990 and Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013.

Follow Isaac Wholesale Limited's HACCP-based Food Safety Management System.

Maintain strict personal hygiene standards at all times.

Ensure correct storage, segregation, and temperature control of raw and prepared meat.

Prevent cross-contamination between raw, cooked, and ready-to-eat products.

Cooperate fully during Food Standards Agency (FSA) inspections and internal audits.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Responsibilities

Comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all Isaac Wholesale Limited HSE policies.

Use knives, saws, mincers, and other machinery safely and only if trained and authorised.

Wear mandatory PPE at all times, including protective clothing and cut-resistant gloves.

Follow COSHH procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and sanitisers.

Adhere to Manual Handling Operations Regulations when lifting or moving stock.

Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment faults immediately.

Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work area.

Cleaning, Sanitation & Equipment Care

Carry out cleaning and sanitisation of workstations, tools, and equipment in line with cleaning schedules.

Complete cleaning, temperature, and hygiene records accurately and on time.

Ensure machinery is shut down and cleaned safely in accordance with SOPs.

Do not operate faulty or unsafe equipment.

5.

Teamwork, Conduct & Compliance

Work collaboratively with warehouse, drivers, and operations teams.

Follow all company policies, including absence, lateness, disciplinary, and code of conduct policies.

Attend mandatory training and refresher sessions (Food Safety, H&S, HSE Toolbox Talks).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

Proven experience in butchery or meat processing within a wholesale or FMCG environment.

Strong understanding of food hygiene and meat handling standards.

Ability to safely use knives and meat processing machinery.

Physically fit for manual handling and prolonged standing.

Good attention to detail and record-keeping ability.

Desirable

Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Health & Safety awareness training.

Experience working in a temperature-controlled warehouse.

Additional Information
