Due to retirement, we are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our small farm shop team. We are a passionate family farm and farm shop business who offer fantastic customer service and a fun work environment which we believe are key to our business. This role is customer facing and the ideal candidate will have the ability to understand the customers requirements and offer advice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cutting meats, ensuring quality and freshness, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Perform butchery tasks such as breaking down beef, lamb and pork carcasses and sausage making
- Have friendly and efficient customer service skills
- Be self-motivated, good with time management and have a good degree of intuitive as there will be times when you will be working on your own
- Ensure all meats are prepared according to quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guideline
- You will be required to work closely with our farm as the majority of the meet is sourced from our own farm.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Butcher including the ability to break down carcasses
- Strong knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques coupled with good, friendly customer service
- Familiarity with butchery equipment such as knives, slicers, and mincers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while upholding quality standards
- Certification in food safety and knowledge of HACCP

Our shop is open Thursday - Sundays (although Sunday working is not a necessity). The position offers a degree of flexibility which we are happy to discuss with the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
Support the butchery team with meat processing and portioning tasks
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
Prepare ingredients for various dishes, including chopping, peeling, and marinating
Follow recipes accurately and assist in developing new menu items
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety standards
Assist in inventory management by organising stock and notifying management of low supplies
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient kitchen workflow
