Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Butcher/Butchers Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a keen interest in butchery. This role involves assisting in the preparation and processing of meat products while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The Butcher will work closely with experienced butchers to deliver high-quality products to our customers. The butchers assistant would work on production of products such as sausages, burgers, meatballs and also help keep the shop clean and tidy in line with food hygiene standards.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cutting of various meats according to specifications Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area, adhering to food safety regulations Support the butchers in processing orders and managing inventory of meat products Ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitised after use Help with the packaging of meat products for display or delivery Follow all health and safety guidelines while handling food products

Requirements

Previous experience in food production or culinary roles is preferred Familiarity with butchery techniques and practices is advantageous Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential Experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is beneficial Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment A passion for quality food preparation and customer service

Pay: 12.21-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 47 per week
