Job Description


We have an exciting opportunity for an efficient and organised Admin to join the purchasing team of our client, a family-run construction company based in Wembley.

As an Admin Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pre-construction process and managing procurement for the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling general administrative tasks and ensuring smooth operations within the company. Your primary focus will be on completing pre-construction admin duties and preparing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and organising documentation for pre-construction activities.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a systematic record-keeping system for pre-construction documents and correspondence.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best deals on materials and equipment required for projects.
  • Coordinate with the construction team to understand project needs and ensure timely procurement to meet project timelines.
  • Manage and complete PQQs for potential clients and project tenders.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
  • Provide administrative support to various departments as needed.
  • Utilise various software applications for administrative tasks, such as Sage Construction, Eque2, and other estimating software.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in general administration roles is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry, especially Civil Engineering and Groundworks, will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of pre-construction processes and procedures is a plus.
  • Experience with Sage Construction, Eque2, or any other estimating software will be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
