We are a well-established and growing main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of work, we are looking for a buyer to join our team.

Overview

As Buyer, you will be responsible for the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and plant required across our construction projects. Working closely with site teams, estimators, and the commercial department, you will ensure all materials meet specification, budget, and programme requirements.

Responsibilities

Source and procure construction materials and plant in line with project requirements Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance Prepare and issue purchase orders and procurement schedules Coordinate with project and site teams to ensure timely deliveries Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant legislation

Requirements

Strong knowledge of construction materials, plant, and supply chains Excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to manage multiple procurement packages and deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software Full UK driving licence
