The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Buyer to play a crucial role in procuring essential components, consumables, and services necessary for the company's day-to-day operations. You will ensure optimal stock levels, review product quality and pricing, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best value for the business.
Key Responsibilities
Place and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain accurate purchasing records in the Opera database.
Verify and process purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices efficiently.
Research and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing.
Review the quality of purchased goods and ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards.
Monitor departmental KPIs, implementing actions to meet targets.
Support the Materials Manager as required and attend daily operational meetings.
Manage and maintain system-driven min/max stock levels for auto-ordering.
Assist with additional tasks such as works vehicle maintenance, customer part enquiries, and export documentation.
Person Specification
Strong working knowledge of Haith parts and machinery.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience using the Opera database for purchasing administration.
A professional purchasing qualification (preferred).
A proactive and positive approach as a Brand Ambassador.
KPIs and Targets
Success in this role will be measured by:
Customer satisfaction levels.
Vendor performance and product quality.
Stockholding efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
Supplier rankings and contract evaluations.
Administrative accuracy and system housekeeping.
