Vacancy: Buyer (Engineering/ Manufacturing)

Plowman Brothers Ltd is a family-run business just outside of York in Sutton on the Forest. We specialize in the manufacture of Livestock Transportation equipment, water treatment and premium agricultural products. We also undertake bespoke fabrication projects across a wide range of sectors.

Our facility houses modern equipment including, CNC Laser & Plasma profilers, Press brake, Lathe and Milling equipment. As well as robotic & pulse synergic welders and a large commercial paint booth. We work with aluminium, Plastics, mild, high strength, wear resistant and stainless steels on a daily basis to fabricate components for the products and services we offer. Range of duties

:

Engaging with suppliers.

Negotiating pricing and delivery timescales.

Creating and managing purchase orders via a database system.

Chasing progress/ forward ordering of long lead time raw materials and goods.

Stores management, stock taking and reports.

Compiling job costing reports.

Sourcing New/ improved parts and materials.

Experience

:

Proven communication skills in person and via telephone and email.

Previous experience of managing own time/ workload.

Organisation skills/ Database management

Demonstrate a desire to work with the engineering/ manufacturing industry.

Ability to carry out manual handling tasks.

Familiar with some engineering processes and materials.

We are looking for a Buyer to join our team. Liaising with the design office and shop floor to negotiate, purchase and track progress of raw materials and parts required for our production processes. We would interested in speaking to those who have previous experience in similar roles as well as those who are keen to learn more about the industry we work in, as full training will be provided to those who demonstrate relevant skills.

Payment/Benefits

:

This is a full time, permanent position, Monday-Friday start and finish times to be discussed (40 hours per week). Salary dependant on experience 30,000 - 40,000

28 days holiday per year, auto enrolment to pension scheme after 3 months, Weekly pay

Pay: 32,500.00-42,500.00 per year
