Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations. This position requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of supply chain dynamics, and proficiency in various procurement systems.

Duties

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and conditions. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities. Utilise procurement systems to manage purchasing activities effectively. Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products and materials. Monitor inventory levels and forecast future demand to optimise purchasing decisions. Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy in order processing. Analyse supplier performance and implement improvement strategies as necessary. Coordinate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.

Requirements

Proven experience in a buying or procurement role within a supply chain environment. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively. Familiarity with procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, etc is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance and market trends. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities. A solid understanding of logistics processes is advantageous.
