As Beauty Buyer you will drive trade for the beauty category, via resourcing and recommending the appropriate ranges of products in line with market trends and performance. Support the category with a 360 approach and working closely with all the key teams such as merchandising, online, marketing, PR, media, CRM, digital, social media, distribution and retail. You will:

• Supplier management: Manage, monitor and evaluate supplier performance. Holds operational and strategic reviews to deliver commercially sound sustainable business and brand partner growth.
• Develop & implement category plans, range reviews, promotions & pricing strategies that are aligned with financial objectives. Reviewing effectiveness and communicate effectiveness & taking appropriate actions where appropriate.
• Initiate and deliver continued omnichannel sales analysis & strategy planning.
• Strong awareness of trends and passionate about beauty latest & greatest products/innovations/new brands and react to changing demands of the industry.
• Preparing and presenting at weekly/monthly sales & profit meetings & assortment review meetings.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of existing UK and international brands to build successful relationships with suppliers through regular and effective communication.
• Manage and drive individual, departmental and total business goals/objectives and drive initiatives to support business growth.
• Proficient with data analysis with the ability to make data driven decision making. Produce data insights and reporting to review performance and drive actions.
• Commercial acumen: Competent with budgeting, sales & profit forecasting and reporting on performance and actions to deliver growth.
• Resource, select, recommend and buy a commercial range of product for all stores and online in accordance with agreed buying objectives,
• Establish and negotiate the best possible terms to provide planned gross margins and stock turn. Working on additional brand/business level tasks across all internal teams to ensure business objectives are followed from a product and delivery point of view.
• Initiate, plan and recommend ways of improving sales performance, especially regarding:

• Visual Merchandising
• Promotional Activity
• Staff Training
• Negotiated supplier contributions where applicable
• Marketing campaigns
• Work closely & leading departmental conversations with Press & Marketing, media, CRM digital to co-ordinate activity regarding new and existing brands, to maximise Harvey Nichols share of voice to both customers and the beauty industry. Communicate with all the key teams to make sure Beauty gets the best coverage internally but also externally with customers.
• Work closely with the retail team to make sure we have the right support on the shopfloor and supports change / improvements to adapt to trade. Communicate the buying strategy including launches, range reviews, opportunities etc.
• Being a brand ambassador of Harvey Nichols in the industry, with key partners and vendors.
• Manage, develop & mentor the team, setting and managing objectives, and workload.
