Buyer

Letchworth, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About us

Stapleton's is more than just a tyre distributor--we're a forward-looking, innovative team with a clear focus on growth. Our Buying team is at the heart of our success, driving commercial decisions and shaping the partnerships that keep us ahead of the market.

If you're ready to take ownership, make an impact, and grow your career in a business that's going places, we'd love to hear from you.

Role

Stapleton's is one of the UK's leading B2B tyre distributors, supplying everything from economy tyres to premium brands. As part of the global ETEL Group, we're on an exciting journey to strengthen our Buying function--building strong supplier partnerships, driving commercial growth, and shaping the future of our product offering.

We're looking for a

Buyer

to join our high-performing team and take real ownership of key supplier relationships. This is a

senior-level buying role

where you'll manage your own supplier portfolio, negotiate commercial terms, and use data to make decisions that directly impact our business goals. If you're ambitious, commercially savvy, and ready to step up, this is your chance to elevate your career.

What you will be doing

No two days are the same. You'll:

Own the

end-to-end supplier relationship

, from commercial negotiations to performance management. Track market trends, costs, and incoterms, using data and analysis to make smart, commercially viable decisions. Manage purchase orders, ensuring alignment with demand and stock plans. Conduct deep analysis to spot growth opportunities and feed insight back into company strategy. Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing & Sales, Operations, and Commercial teams. Streamline processes with digital tools to free up time for strategic, value-adding work.

This is a fast-paced, FMCG-style environment where category management principles are becoming increasingly important. You'll juggle niche brand segments, sharpen your commercial edge, and have real influence over our product categories.

About you

You'll thrive in this role if you are:

Experienced

- ideally 3+ years in buying, procurement, category management, or supply chain (B2B, retail, distribution, or FMCG). Tyre or automotive experience is advantageous but not essential.

Commercially minded

- confident in negotiations, with a sharp eye for margin, cost, and market dynamics.

Analytical & decisive

- able to turn complex data into actionable insights and business decisions.

Self-motivated & proactive

- someone who doesn't wait to be told, but takes initiative, drives results, and asks the right questions.

Collaborative

- a clear communicator who can build trust with suppliers and internal teams alike.

If you're ambitious and ready to step into a role where you'll be trusted to deliver, you'll fit right in.

Benefits

We invest in our people and reward performance with a benefits package that includes:

Hybrid working

with opportunities for national and overseas travel. 31 days' holiday (based on a 5-day week). Enhanced

maternity and paternity leave

. Up to 50% off at Kwik Fit. Wagestream - access your wages before payday. Free online GP appointments and eye care. Cycle-to-work scheme and free mortgage advice. Life assurance and an Employee Assistance Programme. Full training, development, and

real progression opportunities

to support your career growth.
