Role Brief

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Buyer. This is a dynamic, busy manufacturing environment, where you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and suppliers. This position will involve assisting the wider team in varied aspects, including Purchasing, customer support, finance and administration, reporting directly to the Senior Buyer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Work with the Senior Buyer to maximise the efficiency of stock management

Liaise daily with the Production team to ensure stock levels are monitored and maintained via purchase requisition

Analyse and maintain minimum and maximum stock holding levels to inform purchasing decisions

Purchasing of sundry items as required including machinery parts, uniform, PPE

Track and report on orders and deliveries as standard, and to update and maintain the purchase order database as required

Support the business annual stock take

Ensuring that all delivery notes and invoices correspond with the purchase order value stated on the purchase order, before passing over to the Accounts department for processing.

File and maintain the purchase order copy's in the correct customer files for future reference

Competencies and Role Requirements

Great communication skills with the ability to deal with key stakeholders.

Experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment preferred.

Be computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including excel.

Be organised and able to work to deadlines with excellent attention to detail.

Be able to work as part of a team.

Logical approach to problem solving. Understand when to escalate any problem.

Excellent telephone manner, clear and effective communication skills.

Be patient but persistent in your approach.

Must be Friendly, motivated and enthusiastic.

Willingness to learn and be involved in multiple business functions.

Note: Our approach to stock management is very much 'on paper', we do not employ an MRP system, and all of our activity is managed through Microsoft Office, mostly Excel. This role requires a 'can-do' attitude, and this person must be able to communicate effectively with the wider Production team, in order to understand and 'buy' intelligently to suit our needs.

You must have a minimum 3 years in a buying role, within a manufacturing environment, CIPS qualification would be desired but not mandatory for application to this role.

Pay: 30,000.00 per year
