Overview:

We are looking for a buyer to work within the group purchasing team in the smooth running of the Wellingborough Procurement division.

The role involves ordering stock to ensure production runs efficiently, managing stock levels (including the perpetual stock counting process), managing back orders, ensuring all ordering of materials and hardware for the Wellingborough division.

You will report to the Head of Group Procurement and your role is key to developing our long-term growth plans with our suppliers and ensuring the supply base can meet the needs of our manufacturing operation at the Wellingborough division.

Key Responsibilities:

Adjusting stock and analysing results of the perpetual stock checks. Completing physical stocks takes and creation of and using reports to look at perpetual stock taking figures, stock levels (overstocks) and stock turns. Prepare reports on purchasing and supplier performance. Using the IT system to run Bills of Materials to purchase stock. Checking order confirmations and handling queries with suppliers. Working with colleagues and suppliers with regards to management of consignment stock. Work with key stakeholders around the group on purchasing activities. Attend daily meetings with regards to business performance and represent the purchasing function. Daily management of purchasing related customer service issues. Working with the Head of Group Procurement on cost saving initiatives. Other duties as reasonably required by the Company.

Person Specification/ experience:

A can do attitude with strong delegation skills. Minimum of two year experience in a buyer position in manufacturing. Ability to multitask & to work to deadlines. Problem solving and the ability to communicate to multiple peers across the business. Must be able to prioritise work and use own initiative. Excellent attention to detail. Good computer skills and used to using all Microsoft packages. Good timekeeping and attendance.
