About the Buyer Role



The successful applicant will become a key member of our operations team, working closely with our Contract Manager, Production Manager, Site Teams and Operations Director.

You will be responsible for sourcing materials and services for our projects and ensure that stock forecasts are met and delivered.

Within this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchase orders and requisitions, liaising with suppliers, building relationships and ensuring the supplier is meeting the schedule, and the materials are ordered on time

You will be driven and detail-oriented in order to meet the needs of our project's teams and manufacturing teams. It is an exciting and important role within our business.

Buying Role Overview



Execute daily procurement activities with speed and accuracy to keep production lines running. Sources competitive quotes, evaluates supplier options, and raises purchase orders promptly, ensuring PO prices align with the quoting system Monitors delivery schedules to prevent downtime and ensures materials meet quality and specification standards. Quickly resolves issues related to pricing, delivery delays, or product non-conformance to maintain workflow continuity. Tracks and expedites deliveries, proactively following up with suppliers to avoid production delays. Organizes and manages procurement documentation, including purchase orders and project files, ensuring full traceability. Confident in using multiple systems (including Sage).*
Strong understanding of the construction industry, including typical project workflows and commercial considerations. Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify cost efficiencies and support effective financial decision-making. A proactive, enthusiastic, and can-do attitude, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and support the wider team. Excellent time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment. A confident and professional telephone manner, capable of communicating clearly with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to produce spreadsheets, reports, and analyse data effectively. CIPS qualification or working towards
