As a Junior Buyer, you'll support the team in identifying, negotiating, and purchasing exciting products from international suppliers. From managing supplier relationships to monitoring global trends, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring we bring the very best products to our customers -- on time, at the right price, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Buying team in sourcing new products and suppliers from overseas markets.
Support negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve the best value for the business.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with international suppliers and manufacturers.
Monitor shipping schedules, lead times, and logistics to ensure smooth product delivery.
Conduct product and market research to spot new opportunities and global trends.
Support the preparation of buying plans, costings, and sales forecasts.
Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Marketing, and Logistics to deliver successful product launches.
Handle key administration tasks such as raising purchase orders, updating systems, and maintaining supplier records.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and import/export regulations.
Key Skills & Attributes
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A good negotiator with confidence to liaise with overseas suppliers.
Analytical and numerically confident, with strong attention to detail.
Organised and able to juggle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and ideally some exposure to ERP/Buying systems.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Buying, Procurement, or Supply Chain role is essential.
Solid experience with overseas sourcing, imports, or logistics.
Demonstrable success in supplier negotiation and cost management.
Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Supply Chain, or related field desirable, but not essential.
Strong interest in international trade and product sourcing.
